๐Ÿš€ Flight Progression

Canopy Control and Safe Landing Course

Developed by Skydive Atmosfera. Based on the best practices of Flightโ€‘1 and the USPA Canopy Proficiency requirements.

๐Ÿ”’ A Course That Should Not Be Skipped

The AFF course teaches only the basics of canopy control and radio-free landings. However, this is just the starting point. At this stage, most new skydivers lack the knowledge and awareness needed to make fully safe and responsible decisions under canopy. Challenges increase in changing wind conditions, near other jumpers, or in crowded landing areas.

Flight Progression fills this critical gap. The course guides skydivers through the full canopy control progression, building the skills required to land safely, consistently, and with full situational awareness.

It transforms basic license-level skills into the ability to land safely and consistently. You can land on any canopy. You can do so in any conditions. It works even around other jumpers.

๐ŸŽฏ The Flight Progression Training Objectives:

  • Personal and group safety โ€“ collisions and uncontrolled landings must be avoided
  • Consistency โ€“ landings must be predictable and conscious in all situations
  • Accuracy โ€“ not for sport (nor show off), but to avoid obstacles and reach a safe landing spot
  • Situational awareness โ€“ the airspace, terrain, other jumpers, and wind influence must be understood

๐Ÿ“š Course Format:

  • 1.5-hour theory session with discussion elements
  • 5 briefed jumps with defined objectives
  • Video recording of each jump (ground camera)
  • Individual debriefing and detailed error analysis
  • Corrective actions and development of safe habits
  • Preparedness for landing in complex or crowded drop zones

๐Ÿ‘ฅ Who Should Attend:

  • Skydivers after AFF course
  • Candidates for the USPA B-License who want more than the basic requirement
  • Licensed skydivers with no prior formal canopy control training
  • Anyone who understands that the greatest risks in skydiving begin after deployment, underscoring the importance of a structured flight progression course.
Flight Progression Course

Enroll for the course before bad habits form. And before landings become dangerous. This is for you and for others as part of a structured flight progression course.

Flight Progression Course๐Ÿช‚ Flight Progression Basic – a shortcut for B licence

The Flight Progression Basic option covers the required canopy control exercises for the USPA B-License, as listed in the official Canopy Proficiency Card. Each exercise is explained and practiced on the ground. Then the student performs them independently during jumps. An AFF Instructor signs off the card upon completion.

However, only a USPA Instructor Examiner or S&TA is authorized to verify the card in the USPA system as part of the B-License application. This final verification is included in the course and provided by Skydive Atmosfera. No individual errors analysis nor landing recording are included in this course.
